Meteorite was completed at Pedvale Open-Air Museum in Sabile, Latvia (Pedvale website) during the 6 week Iron.Stone Sculpture symposium in the summer of 2014. The Iron.Stone Symposium was held in conjunction with the 7th International Conference on Contemporary Cast Iron Art. Meteorite is a permanent addition to the collection of Pedvale Open-Air Museum. This installation presents a multi-layered metaphor involving earth and our relationship to space and the cosmos. The actions, violent and mystical, depict a linkage of earth to the heavens, portraying the humbling forces of the universe.
